David Huizenga

Paul Revere and The Raiders

Dave Huizenga, was captivated at 4 years old by the vocal and hip sway stylings of Elvis Presley. Soon after being swept up by Beatlemania and all that followed in the 60’s…The Who, the Kinks, Paul Revere and the Raiders, and ALL the rest, Dave learned guitar, piano and never stopped singing! From his first band in high school, through those unforgettable and over the top Chicago club days throughout the 70’s and 80’s, Dave has performed live rock, pop and in every decade since.

In 1987 he began writing music for television for Chicago’s legendary CBS newsman and documentarian Bill Kurtis. Dave became his music composer and location audio tech, a career lasting over 25 years. The PBS series The New Explorers, and A&E’s Cold Case Files are two long running series that fully feature Dave’s background scores. Currently, CNBC’s American Greed features his themes and background music.

Dave’s return to the stage occurred in the late 90’s as Chicago radio personality Steve Dahl called on him to head up his band the Dalphins for a couple years. From that Dave found success on the circuit of Chicagoland’s vast neighborhood summer festival scene beginning in 2003.

He then in 2010, put together Generation, a 9 piece rock and soul outfit that continues it’s success by headlining many of the areas top festivals.

Dave, a sucker for great lyrics and killer melodies and harmonies, also currently sings lead and plays guitar for the New Heartaches, playing old school country classics.

With visual flair and a true 60’s rock vocal style, Dave now brings to Paul Revere’s Raiders all the energy and devotion you would expect from a singer who credits this band’s music and showmanship for helping shape his long musical career.
